Coffee Hall is a community-based space occupying the streets of good ol’ Chinatown in DTLA, and we couldn’t be happier.
Coffee Hall is a community-based space occupying the streets of good ol’ Chinatown, and we couldn’t be happier. YASSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS.
Coffee Hall is literally a rotating “coffee hall” of different local coffee creatives (brands, roasteries, and of course – people) started up by Yeekai Lim, also the owner of the awesome Cognoscenti Coffee! With this kind of new and unique concept, Coffee Hall is a space that has already had so many different small-business coffee shops (e.g. Stereoscope, Neat Coffee, Lift Coffee Roasters, etc) occupying the space.
Coffee Hall is actually its own coffee shop. But, its additionally a space where they accept “once a month residencies” (for 3 days) from local coffee brands that would like to showcase their stuff.
It’s located in the brightly-colored Mandarin Plaza, along with other cool shops such as Friend Mart and Building Block! (And also where Pok-Pok LA once was….rest in peace, beautiful fish sauce chicken wings 😔)
We got a chance to meet Aldo Lihiang, co-founder of Coffee Hall, who showed us the best service upon our visit. He let us try the newest experimental drink – the charcoal latte! We, of course, fell in love with it. Not only was the taste of the coffee swell, but the aesthetic of it all was so on point. It was even served in Supreme-branded glass cups! Classy, for sure.
(*Cat was so in awe of it, tbh. Hands down, her favorite drink to photograph.)
Seriously, go check out Coffee Hall to hang out with friendly baristas, try some cool experimental drinks, and play some ping pong!
